Our mobile coffee van is a Mercedes Vito extra long wheel base vehicle, especially designed and fitted out by Espresso Mobile Cafe franchise. It is fully self contained and can operate in any conditions with it's own 240v power supply and fresh hot and cold water supply.
It is also fitted with refrigeration, an espresso machine, Mazzer Kony Conical grinder, blender and miscellaneous equipment.
The most important equipment is the Espresso machine. We use an ECM "Raphiello" machine. The espresso machine forces pressurised hot water at 94 degrees through small filter baskets tamped with freshly ground roasted coffee beans, a "caramba" blend by Danes Gourmet Coffee Roasters in Sydney.
The steam wand gently "stretches" the milk to a consistant 65 degrees - the recommended serving temperature of a good espresso coffee.
The group handles are cleaned regurlarly along with back flush of the Espresso machine to ensure your espresso does not taste bitter. It is important to ensure all equipment is kept clean and is fully maintained and serviced regularly.
Our Barista's fine tune the Mazzer Kony Conical coffee grinder further adding to the quality product and efficiency of operations of the Geelong franchise. The coffee grind changes throughout the day as temperatures and humidity constantly change. This requires expert adjustment to the courseness of the grind ensuring the coffee extraction is perfect in every case.
